La La Land was one of the most anticipated and critically acclaimed films of 2016 and as part of the marketing strategy in Australia Digital Backyard was engaged by Newcastle creative agency Nodding Dog to build an app designed to generate buzz on social media.

The app was embedded on the official La La Land websites in Australia and Canada and allowed people to “see their name in lights or stars” by generating personalised scenes from the movie. The resulting animations were then sharable to Facebook.
